Notes on working with red 011,lacquer red 074 and carmine 125:
1. Of all Color Line products,carmine,red and lacquer red are the brightest in expression and shade.
They are also the most difficult to get off your fingers and clothes.
Wear gloves and work clothes when working with these colors.
2. Although the pigmentation actually seems and is very intense,
you have to use a little more color to achieve a strong color rendering after firing.
This is especially true if you are airbrushing the paint.
3. All COLOR Line Paints can be freely mixed,including the red tones.
However,some mixtures produce a brownish / gray hue after firing,very different from the unfired product.
We recommend a test firing before tackling larger projects.
4. it is difficult to get light pink when mixing red and white.Due to the problems mentioned under point 2,
the red color tends to burn out and only leaves the white.
We found that a ratio of 1 part red and 6 parts mix white resulted in a pleasant pink.
5. Red colors are preferably fired alone.So fire all the other colors in the first step and
then add the red color for a second firing process.
This will reduce the amount of medium that is burned when the colors are fired.
When the medium burns,oxygen is consumed and a reducing atmosphere is created in the furnace,
which can affect the red colors.
